After a long winter, rowers, volunteers and spectators alike basked in the sunshine at Burnaby Lake this past weekend at the RCA Spring Trials West. The action on the water matched the wonderful weather with many rowers setting the bar high for their eastern compatriots to meet at the upcoming RCA Spring Trials East.
With all three Canadian crews in the finals of this weekend’s World Rowing Cup in Sydney, Australia, the women’s pair of Natalie Mastracci of Thorold, Ont., and Susanne Grainger of London, Ont., reached the podium today
RCA’s Junior Rowing Camp concluded on Saturday, March 15 after one week training in the sunshine at Burnaby Lake, British Columbia. In total, twelve young rowers from all across the country, joined RCA’s Director of Talent Development, Peter Shakespear, and RCA’s Talent Development Coordinator, Chuck McDiarmid, for a total of nineteen on-water sessions over the 6 days.
